Alison and Cody envisioned a wedding that felt bold, romantic, and unmistakably theirs. Hosted at Commercial Club SLC for 120 guests, their “‘Til Death” celebration layered gothic tones with warmth, creating a reception that was dramatic, immersive, and deeply personal.

The Menu

Dinner was designed entirely around high-impact stations woven throughout the ballroom. A Flaming Wheel of Parmigiano drew guests in with freshly tossed bucatini carbonara, while a vibrant Street Taco Bar offered carne asada and shredded chicken with artful displays of cabbage, cotija, jalapeños, and citrus. The layout encouraged guests to move, gather, and interact, turning the reception into an experience that felt active and alive.

The Style

LUX Floral & Design leaned fully into the “‘Til Death” aesthetic with burgundy protea, black dahlias, white anemones with dark centers, trailing amaranthus, and layered candlelight. Velvet linens in merlot and black grounded the space, while gold vessels and a custom neon “‘Til Death Do Us Part” installation created a focal point that balanced edge with romance. Subtle skull accents and rich textures gave the evening depth without overpowering its elegance.

Bar & Dessert

The bar program centered around a customizable “Like It or Spike It” cocktail, allowing guests to choose their spirit or enjoy it alcohol-free in honor of Cody’s sobriety. The approach felt inclusive and thoughtful, ensuring every guest could participate in the moment without it revolving solely around alcohol. Custom “‘Til Death” stir sticks added a playful branded detail to each glass.

Dessert carried the theme forward with a heart-shaped buttercream cake detailed in black and gold and an Ice Cream Sundae Bar that invited guests to build their own indulgent finale. The night closed with a surprise delivery of the bride’s favorite comfort food, served diner-style, adding a nostalgic and personal twist to an already unforgettable evening.
