GREEN EVENTS

At LUX, we're committed to guiding you in creating zero-waste events through various eco-friendly practices. From sustainable rentals and linen options to local ingredient menus and paperless invitations, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint and support community revenue. Our range of eco-friendly tableware includes biodegradable options made from natural fibers, while we also offer sustainable china for reusable solutions. Moreover, we work closely with clients to minimize food waste and collaborate with non-profit organizations to redistribute excess food to those in need, fostering a culture of compassion and sustainability.

LUX Recycling Program

At LUX, our commitment extends beyond our clients to include our environment. For the past 5 years, we've spearheaded an award-winning recycling program, diverting nearly 90% of our waste from landfills across multiple recycling streams. With an average daily food waste of over 250 pounds, totaling 60 tons annually, we've partnered with Momentum Recycling to recycle scraps into fertilizers for parks and farms. While only a few items like plastic wrap, tape, and food-related solid items end up in landfills, we're actively supporting the Waste to Energy Recycling Facility to convert previously non-recyclable products into energy for our local community. Our recent contribution in February 2019 marks a milestone in our sustainability journey, alongside our initiative to recycle all plastic gloves used in our operations.

Community

To inspire others to embrace sustainability, LUX actively participates in panels, workshops, and speaking engagements at universities and conferences. We share insights into our eco-focused business model and offer practical tips for adopting sustainable practices. Our Sustainability Committee meets monthly to review all aspects of our operations, ensuring we consistently meet or exceed our standards of excellence. Through ongoing refinement of our processes, innovation, and team education, we remain dedicated to advancing our sustainable mission for a cleaner and healthier world for future generations.

Facility

Our commitment to sustainability extends to our facility, where we've implemented energy-efficient upgrades such as replacing light bulbs, windows, and equipment with energy-saving options. Our walk-in fridges are strategically designed to minimize energy usage, with the freezer located inside the fridge to reduce temperature adjustments.

Furthermore, we purchase wind power through Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky program, ensuring all our energy usage supports renewable sources.

Looking ahead, LUX is constructing a new state-of-the-art facility that will meet LEED standards, reinforcing our dedication to a stronger, cleaner community!
